CORY BARRETT

Executive Director & Principle Owner

CORY BARRETT

I have lived in Denver since 2001, making Colorado not only my home but my professional work place.  Since the mid-1990s, I have been working as a Developmental Disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities, and Mental Health professional. As a QDDP/QIDP/QMHP, I have provided services in a variety of settings and positions.  Workplaces have varied from community service agencies and a private practice to residential treatment facilities and psychiatric hospitals.  In the mid-2000s, I added organizational development and project management to my arsenal of professional offerings, giving rise to currently having ongoing consultations with agencies to provide organizational and staff development, including reviewing policies, procedures, and records for audits, licensure surveys, funding compliance and accreditation reviews.

I have found it very important to connect and engage in activities that are unrelated to my career work plan, to keep my balanced and centered for maximum performance.  I have an extensive background in choral and vocal music.  As a tenor vocalist, I have performed both as a solo artist and in ensembles throughout the United States and Europe.  Also I’m experienced in conducting a number of small youth and adult chamber choruses throughout my career.  My management of artistic and musical programs included Mosaic Youth Chorus, which was the 3rd youth chorus in GALA Choruses.  I continue to also make guest appearances as a solo artist. Currently, I produce theatrical productions as the Director of ENCORE Youth Theater under Cooperative Innovation Consultants.  As an avid fan of sports and the great outdoors, my long time love and dedication to tennis led him to becoming a USTA Junior League tennis coach in Denver.  This has allowed me to engage in two of his greatest passions, the game of tennis and supporting young people.

I am dedicated to promoting healthy living in the areas of emotional and mental health.  I am strongly committed to promoting the ultimate quality of living for all people regardless of race/ethnicity, socioeconomics, and spiritual beliefs, especially LGBTQQIA2-S youth and their heterosexual allies, who often have no voice and live their lives in fear.
